BRENDON Hill based trainer Jeremy Scott has just enjoyed the most successful season of his career, much to the delight of everyone in West Somerset.
He said: “This season has not been the easiest, however, it culminated in our biggest win and finally broke the £500,000 prize money barrier! We had 25 winners throughout the 12 months.
“We have some very nice young horses to look forward to next season including Pink Pony Club and Came From Nowhere. I’m certain you would have thought we were mad suggesting we would have the Champion Hurdler in our yard; however, here we are!
“Golden Ace has proved it was not a fluke by finishing a good second in Punchestown to State Man in the Boodles Irish Champion Hurdle. Cheltenham was a surreal few days and one to which will be a highlight, with the chorus of “Oh Jeremy Scott” ringing out throughout the Cheltenham winners enclosure.
“Elusiveness has turned a corner this Spring, winning on her last three runs, Taunton, Ludlow and Haydock. Her enthusiastic owners had very enjoyable days at Ludlow and Haydock in April. Pink Pony Club was an impressive winner of a bumper at Chepstow on his debut for his owners CPR. He is homebred and had been improving over the past couple of months and learnt throughout his race how to gallop and thoroughly enjoyed the day.
“His full brother is about to be broken in in the next few weeks and may be one to see in a couple of years time! No Panic made his debut on a bumper at Hereford, making a very pleasing debut with plenty of promise to finish third. The second has gone on to win at Worcester this week. We still have shares available in this talented horse who will give his future owners plenty of fun. Please get in contact to secure your share!
“He is currently enjoying his summer holiday at Higher Holworthy. The Sainted Canary ran well at Perth at the end of the season to finish third on his handicap debut. It is probably the furthest course away from Higher Holworthy and a long journey for both horses and staff but a very enjoyable festival when you get there!
“Joe Cotton has performed consistently all season, finishing in the first three on all his starts this season. Fair Dinkum made a pleasing return to the flat at Bath, finishing fifth on his seasonal debut, our second flat horse, Bye Bye Salam ran well on his handicap debut at Kempton.
“Hopefully threre’s more to come from both horses this summer. Border Gem may not be the biggest, however, she is a race mare, finishing second in her bumper at Newton Abbot. Diesel Line has been placed in his last three starts over hurdles and heads to the Goffs Horses In Training sale next week.
“The legend Dashel Drasher ran another great race at the Cheltenham April meeting, giving away plenty of weight in a handicap, clearly retaining his enthusiasm. Full Of Charm ran well in the mares’ bumper at Cheltenham and we can look forward to her over hurdles next season. With the persistent dry weather, although it has been frustrating for the racing, it has meant the horses are enjoying a good holiday with plenty of sunbathing! “
