'Grand National' raced at Dunster Country Fair

A SHETLAND Pony Grand National, won by legendary champion jockey Frankie Dettori’s 12-year-old son Rocco, was a highlight of an action-packed 39th Dunster Country Fair on Wednesday.

The organisers hailed it as one of the best ever, with an array of attractions including falconry, dog show, 30 packs of hounds, equestrian events, archery, mountain-biking, stalls and country crafts for the near-capacity crowd.

The Grand National, watched by celebrities from the racing world, raises money for charity.

Rocco, one of the country’s most promising young jockeys, has now qualified to ride in the grand final at London’s Olympia Horse Show in December.
