Youngsters help Grenfell Tower nursery

By in Local People

PICTURED are some of the children of the Cheeky Cherubs nursery in Minehead who took part in an emergency services dress-up day to help a nursery caught up in the Grenfell Tower fire.

Since the blaze at the London tower block, Cheeky Cherubs had learned that there was a nursery on the ground floor of the tower which was soon to celebrate its 30th anniversary.

While all children and staff had been accounted for, the nursery had lost everything.

And as the Minehead nursery had experienced the devastation caused by a fire at its base at Alcombe Children’s Centre a few years ago, it felt it would like to do what it could to support the Grenfell nursery.

So it decided to invite children to a dress-up day to raise money for the nursery and also celebrate the bravery and heroism the emergency services, and £44.89 was raised.
