CROWCOMBE and Stogumber CofE Primary Schools hosted a ‘grand opening’ last Thursday to thank funders for their donations towards new play equipment at both schools.
Seven organisations helped raise the £52,000 cost of the project – Avon and Somerset Police Community Trust, Awards for All, Fairfield Trust, Minehead Inner Wheel, Minehead Lions, Tesco Groundworks and James and Carew Educational Trust.
Parents were also involved, and as well as parents and plaques were installed, listing and thanking them.
Head teacher Julie Norman said the children really enjoy the physical challenge the play equipment offers.
“It has transformed playtimes for all the children and really raised confidence, friendships groups and physical stamina which can be transferred into curriculum areas during the day.”
