Grant for Stowey recreation ground project

NETHER Stowey’s village hall and recreation ground are receiving a £2,500 grant to help them draw up legal agreements for their joint project to improve the ground.

The money is coming from Sedgemoor District Council as part of a shareout of more than £6,000 to community groups across the district.

Also benefitting are Sedgemoor Ramblers, who are being given £210 to help fund the second Quantock Walking Festival at Nether Stowey.

The first festival last year attracted 120 walkers with some coming from different parts of the country.

The funding will be used to pay for a coach to transport the walkers from Nether Stowey to Holford each morning, from where they will walk different routes back to Stowey.
